The National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum (NMHCCF) acknowledges the profound impact of the tragic events last Saturday at Bondi Westfield in Sydney. Our hearts go out those directly affected, along with their families and loved ones.
As the representative lived experience mental health body for psychosocial disability, The Forum recognises that these events along with associated media coverage may be causing distress for people with lived experiences of psychosocial disability, and their families, carers and significant others. Due to the nature of this incident, many people both directly and indirectly affected may also be experiencing trauma as a result.
