How to become a member

11 March 2020

The National Mental Health Consumer & Carer Forum (NMHCCF) has a closed membership of 28 members only.

Membership is currently by nomination from the group that is being represented.

Current members are drawn from a broad representation of jurisdictions, community organisations and specialty groups (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse).

If you are interested in becoming a member, contact the NMHCCF Secretariat who can let you know the contact details for the Liaison Officer in your jurisdiction, organisation or specialty group.

Appointment to the NMHCCF is for a fixed term and via competitive selection process in most jurisdictions.  Appointments are reviewed every two years, with rotating membership encouraged to ensure broad and diverse representation is achieved.

It is important to note that Mental Health Australia, the auspicing body, and the members of the NMHCCF have no control over who is appointed to the NMHCCF, as the appointment is currently an independent process to ensure the integrity of the representation.
